- Match time stamps so that they start with the speech attached to it
- Listen to the audio on normal speed to make sure that the words match the audio (no words missing, no words added)
- Read through the style guide and edit accordingly
- Make separate paragraphs for topic changes
- There will be communication with the participant after the transcription; keep that in mind to encourage you as something to look forward to
- Remembering the mission of the project will also encourage you
- Exercise confidentiality and other ways of protecting the narrator's rights and privacy
- Think of the audience of the project
