In Pauline Dogmatics, focus on the problem of the intermediate state (PD 156-60); the definition of "the Other" (397-405; which undergirds Campbell's universalism discussion in ch. 18 that follows); and the definition of creation in relation to Paul's notion of transcendence (ch. 24, 572-93).

  • Andrew Torrance, current work in science and theology. We will read an essay currently in progress, entitled "A Conjunctive Explanation of the Christian Faith." Andrew will discuss how it is related to two previous efforts:
    • Andrew's chapter, "Not Knowing Creation," in vol. 1 of the series Perspectives from Theology, Philosophy, and Science, ed. Andrew B. Torrance and Thomas H. McCall  (Grand Rapids, Michigan: Zondervan, 2018): Knowing Creation, vol. 1, #2018-PTPS-1; and Christ and the Created Order, vol. 2, #2018-PTPS-2.
    • Andrew's article in Zygon, " Should a Christian Adopt Methodological Naturalism?" (vol. 52, Sept 2017, pp. 691-725), which is an expanded version of the chapter from the book. It led to a rejoinder by John Perry and Sarah Lane Ritchie, "Magnets, Magic, and Other Anomalies: In Defense of Methodological Naturalism" (vol. 53, Dec 2018, pp. 1064-1093), followed by Andrew's response: "The Possibility of a Theologically-Engaged Science" (vol. 53, Dec 2018, pp. 1094-1105).
