Abstract

T. F. Torrance is widely known and read by those who work at the interface of theology and the natural sciences. This essay shows that the distinctive shape and contours of his theology have much to offer those who work at the intersection of the arts and faith: the arts can be enriched by his theology, and in turn, his theological outlook by the arts. Four key currents in Torrance’s theology are explored: his Christological account of creation, his focus on Christ’s vicarious humanity, his anti-reductionism, and his account of the relational nature of space and time.
